by Before the all stars of floorball battled in the FZ17 All-Star Game, Flemming Kühl offered to have fun in the rink for everybody. The small field tournament held before the big match was open for up to 32 adult teams and eight Under 13 teams, who played small field floorball. I do not detail each and every match from Hamburg (I also arrived too late for that…), but at least introduce you to what happened at the early hours of the 2025 FZ Event. The matches were held with a 1×10 minutes match time.

FZ17 Small Field Tournament – Adults
Finally, the adult tournament played with 17 teams. The tournament was played on four fields, two in the sports hall and two outside, on a street floorball ground. The latter works out surprisingly well, so that the outdoor matches could also be played on a high level. I was absolutely impressed by the high level of comradeship and fairness in practically all of the matches I saw. The majority of games did not even have a referee – and that worked out. The teams came from all over Germany – there were even some international guests.
FZ17 Small Field Tournament – Under 13
The youth category was sold out, featuring eight teams. They were majorly local and regional teams, including squads from clubs as well from schools. Again, the teams had a very relaxed time. However, you did see some more high sticks and similar moves in the match. Nonetheless, it was really fun to watch the future of Hamburg’s regional floorball.
At the end of the tournament, the teams have been honored in a ceremony. While all youth teams (if they haven’t gone home) had been in focus, only the top 3 and the last team of the adult category received presents for their performance.
