In Septemeber 2026, Megan Moroney will be heading to Europe for her Cloud 9 tour. You find the detailed dates below or in my Tour Date Overview. Some seventh months, earlier, the US American country artist is sharing the corresponding album. Here is my review of Cloud 9, published on 20th February 2026.

Megan Moroney – About The Artist

Megan Ann Moroney was born in 9th October 1997 in Savannah, Georgia, USA. However, the female country artist grew up West of Atlanta. Apart from learning to play the piano in childhood years, she also did cheerleading and musical theater. In parallel to studying music business, she turned into a professional artist. Her first single was Tennessee Orange (2022), which is a triple platinum release in Canada and a quadruple one in the United States. Cloud 9 is her third album. Before that, she released Lucky (2023) and Am I Okay? (2024).

Megan Moroney – Cloud 9 – Track by Track

The fifteen song album lasts 52 minutes.

1. Cloud 9

The title track opens Moroney’s 2026 album. The song is gentle, full of love and emotions. It’s simply a beautiful country pop song, with a lovely personal touch. The sound is a bit of plushy – but that’s just a nice fit to the story of this one.

2. Medicine

Especially the stanzas of Medicine come with a bittersweet, rocking flavor. The chorus than switches over to a very typical country sound. Medicine uses very traditional elements of the genres. Nonetheless, the present groove and its nice plot prevents it from feeling outdated. A really nice song, which is really well produced – and thus turns to one of the most fascinating songs of the album.

3. 6 Months Later

In June 2025 already, Megan Moroney shared 6 Months Later. It has been the first song release from Cloud 9. The song is a nice country-pop track. I feel wrong that I feel it is a good one, but not a highlight of the album – with 76 million streams on Spotify only, this song has so far indeed been a great success.

4. Stupid

The beginning of Stupid rather reminds me of some indie pop and rock tracks. Nonetheless, Megan Moroney leaves a mark and recorded a song with her own signature here. It is another song which comes with really nice and straight storytelling.

He’s a lot bit pretty and a little dumb
He probably couldn’t spell “valedictorian”
And I’ll admit there’s brighter stars in the sky
He speaks before he thinks, like most of the time
But there’s got to be a reason why he isn’t here
With a girl like me, you don’t just disappear
Up and ghost me, he wouldn’t do it
No way, no way a boy’s that stupid

5. Beautiful Things

With Beautiful ThingsCloud 9 has one of its most intimate moments. At the single release works with an acoustic-alike setting. Even though it later features some louder and more present moments, it maintains its close relation to the listener.

6. Convincing

Convincing does not need to be loud to be convincing. It is the gentleness in Megan’s voice, the fine melody, the harmonic setting, which is enough to catch the listener. Again, the track is a song, which quickly creates a link between the artist and the listener – that’s excellent songwriting.

7. Liars & Tigers & Bears

The more I listened to this song, the more I loved it. Moroney criticizes the narrow boundaries in which women in the music industry are expected to grow their career. The song is louder than the song. It may be unpleasant for some people from the lyrics side, but it is a lovely write and one of the core tracks of Cloud 9.

Ooh, look alive
You better watch your back for knives
There’s snakes in the grass
And thieves in the night
Liars, and tigers, and bears, oh my
Ooh, don’t cry
They’re gonna take your place in line
So, work till it kills you, but don’t actually die
Liars, and tigers, and bears

8. I Only Miss You (ft. Ed Sheeran)

The eighth song was (obviously) one of the songs I was looking forward to the most. Having Megan pairing up with Ed Sheeran just feels like a huge thing. If there wasn’t the howling steel guitar, the song might feel like an intimate campfire recording. A very traditional style duet, which becomes fascinating by its setting.

9. Wedding Dress

My biggest fear ain’t tigers
Or spiders, or heights
Or getting lost somewhere at sea
It’s one that I’ve been playing in my head
Since you left
And it shows up in my dreams

The ninth song is another intimate one with an acoustic guitar setting. The song deals with thoughts about a failed relationship pops up randomly in everyday life. And I’m about to say, “I do” then out of the blue, I think of you?, for example. Even though we all know these kind of situation, the song feels a bit made up to me. Not a bad song, but also not on my list of favorites.

10. Change of Heart

The song starts slow and gentle – but suddenly, a rocking chorus breaks out and surprises the listener. That’s just in line with the title and theme of the song, Change of Heart. Sometimes, your thoughts and feelings suddenly change, like the mood and melody in this song. Not the only reason, why this one is a really well-wrotten song.

11. Bells & Whistles (ft. Kacey Musgraves)

Another really interesting collaboration on Cloud 9 is Bells & Whistles. The voices of Megan Moroney and Kacey Musgraves combined feel very harmonic. However, the song itself is one of the weaker ones on this album – which still means it is in a very good range.

12. Table for Two

Why be alone when we don’t have to? Let’s get a table for two! – that’s what Moroney is proposing in this song. The song especially comes with a beautiful chorus. However, it is close to other tracks on the album, which takes a bit away from its beauty.

13. Wish I Didn’t

The 16th January 2026 release was Megan’s first track published this year. The present beat of the song spreads pop-ish feelings again, after a couple of rather calm recordings. It is a nice one with a modern touch.

14. Who Hurt You?

I would describe this song as a melancholic ballad. The thoughts and feelings, the struggle is nicely underlined by Megan and her song. At the end of the chorus, she asks herself Who hurt you so bad, bad, bad?. And you feel with her.

15. Waiting on the Rain

It’s getting really emotional at the end of Cloud 9. Moroney closes her emotional and personal musical trip though Cloud 9 with even more emotions. Being backed up on the vocal side of this quiet song increases the magic. And there are even some strings. Despite it is a heartbreak song, this album somehow closes heartwarming as well.

Megan Moroney – Cloud 9 – My View

I am sure that European fans will even more look forward to Megan’s tour after listening to the “soundtrack” of it. Cloud 9 is a lovely, very personal album. Despite including 15 songs with some similarities, it does not get boring. The storytelling is simply too good. And then, there are also these small surprising and fine moments many of the songs have. I absolutely like it.

My Favorite Song: Liars & Tigers & Bears
