Rock Meets Country’s Nashville Night in Sempach had a very special show to me. My Australian favorite Chelsea Berman had her very first onstage appearance on European soil. I finally felt that this is worth a separate post.

Chelsea Berman – About The Artist
Her own website states that Chelsea Berman is a dynamic force in country and pop music, hailing from Sydney, Australia. Already in childhood years, she started to be on stage in musical theaters. She started in country music. For example her debut EP Better Than Ever (2018) is rather in that genre. It peaked fourth in the iTunes Country Album charts, being the top Australian entry of that time. Nowadays, the country music lady more and more moved towards pop music. With this posting, I promote Chelsea to a Featured Artist of Flyctory.com.
Chelsea Berman – The Show
Chelsea started her 80 minute set right in time at 18:40. It featured a mixture of originals and covers and also a country and pop influences. Her starting song was her February 2023 single Going There, followed by her version of Taylor Swift’s Fearless. Especially at her original songs like Twenty Something, Sober Now or Like Me Better, which sounded a bit more country-alike accompanied by guitarist Dylan Farrell only, she told a lot about the stories behind the songs.
On the cover side, she later shared songs like Sabrina Carpenter’s Taste or Merry Go ‘Round. Thereby, her versions had a very own touch and did not only follow the notes. In later parts of her set, she especially impressed with her way of interpreting Luke Combs’ When It Rains It Pours or Shania Twain’s That Don’t Impress Me Much. She also featured a wide range of her career, like the title track of her 2021 Can You Just Not. Another song I really liked was the 2022 single Break Up With A Friend. While the Sempach crowd was a bit of shy at the beginning, they more and more enjoyed the set of the Australian lady.

Chelsea Berman – My View
Seeing Chelsea on her very first stage appearance in Europe was finally the reason which made me travel to Switzerland that weekend. Seeing my girl on stage was an absolute dream to me. Especially with her transition towards pop, she did have a tough task, which she absolutely mastered. Let’s hope that this performance is helping her to have some more flights to Europe in the near future.
