NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West

As I had a rather early flight from Frankfurt (FRA) and wanted to check out the new Terminal 3, I decided to have a night close to the airport. Driving there from home finally made me choose a NH Hotel in the area during my trip in late September 2026. Here is my review of the NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West, which is in fact located in Raunheim.

NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West – Location

The hotel is located on the Northeast of Raunheim. It is located west of the runways 8C/8R / 25L/25C. If there are Eastbound landings, planes are flying over the hotel, which I did not feel being disturbing. In the area, there are several other hotels and some basic touristic services. Next door, there is the Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt Airport – Raunheim, where I stayed two nights later. Its premise also hosts a discount grocery store.

Raumheim does have direct S-Bahn commuter rail connection to the airport. However, the station is a some one kilometer walk away. If you arrive by car, though, the location is quite ideal. It is a less then ten minute drive to Terminal 1, the motorway A3 connecting to Cologne is just minutes away. The hotel includes a major parking lot, which is 16 EUR per night. When I arrived there, a bus blocked unloading hotel guests (not a hotel shuttle) the access to it. The lighted advertisements around the hotel grounds are a bit of unluckily located so that I did not spot the parking entrance in the late evening at all.

NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West – Room

I had one night at the NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West, Thursday to Friday, in September 2026. Including breakfast and all taxes, the rate was 85.30 EUR (which I partially paid with Discovery Dollar). My GHA Titanium status granted me an upgrade from a Standard to a Superior Room. The room was really large, so that it would have been even an option if I traveled with more luggage, e.g. before or after a longer trip. I liked the corner work desk with an integrated power outlet as well as the small fridge in the room. The room design was not overwhelmingly modern, but very functional, so that I had really felt having a comfortable stay.

NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West – Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the major restaurant on ground level, close to the reception. In the evening, parts of the area are used for dining and as a bar. With quite a major selection of salad items, the buffet had a bit of an oriental touch. However, the selection was overall nice and the presentation and quality was absolutely nice and in line with the class of the hotel. There was a bit of hassle as not all coffee machines were operating during my stay.

NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West – Service

The staff was very welcoming and friendly at check-in. Unfortunately, the complimentary WiFi was a bit too limited for more intense work – a speed upgrade to Premium WiFi was roughly 10 EUR per day. The NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West also offers a gym, which is a bit of tricky to find. Once you made it to the short stairway from ground level on one wing, you enjoy this absolute beauty, though. They also run a sauna – but as it was in use while I took pictures, I cannot share impressions of that. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to Frankfurt Airport (Terminal 1 only – you need to take their transfers to get to Terminal 3).

NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West – My View

I overall enjoyed my stay at the NH Hotel Frankfurt Airport West. The rooms are nice, breakfast works out and the location is very handy. The situation around the hotel ground entrance and the too slow WiFi lead to limitations, though.
