In December 2025, wife and I flew from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) to Calgary (YYC) on a Westjet flight. As we did not have breakfast at the early morning service, we originally planned using one of the Priority Pass lounges at the airport. However, close to our departure gate, there was an American Express Centurion Lounge. Here is my review of the lounge experience.

Centurion Lounge Phoenix (PHX) – Location & Access

The American Express Centurion Lounge at Phoenix Airport (PHX) is located at the B-Gate area in Terminal 4. The departure gate B21 is right opposite. All four gate sections, A to D, are connected, so that you may use the lounge also for other Terminal 4 departures – the walking times may be a bit of bothering, though. The lounge is located above the departure gates and shares the reception area with the Eclipse Lounge. From there, you either take stairs or the elevator up to lounge level.

The lounge opens daily from 6:00 until midnight. The access policy is in line with other Centurion Lounges. This means that you need an American Express Platinum or Centurion Card as well as a flight ticket for the day (regardless of the airline) to enter the lounge. Depending on the country of issue, you have a certain number of guests. From summer 2026 onward, this person needs to be on the same flight. There are certain collaborations with Delta Airlines, whose high tier frequent flyers also have access to the lounge.

Centurion Lounge Phoenix (PHX) – Atmosphere

The lounge does have a typical US-American Centurion Lounge setting. There are different areas with a variety of seating options. The one behind the reception desk offers cozy relax chairs as well as work desks. Towards the rear of the lounge, there is the bar as well as the buffet, which rather comes in restaurant style design. The distribution of power outlets is good for any seating close to a wall. Due to the slightly contoured design, there is a bit of privacy in the lounge. When we arrived there on a December 2025 Monday morning, there were not too many guests. However, when we left some 90 minutes later, the lounge was packed and a waiting line at the reception desk, with quite some people waiting for access.

Centurion Lounge Phoenix (PHX) – Food & Drink

The food offering is pretty solid. We had breakfast service. There were bagels with cream cheese and jelly, an avocado toast section as well as quite some fruit and traditional (and some more fancy) warm options. In regards of drinks, you can help yourself with hot drinks, iced tea and water. For all other drinks, you have the bar service in the center of the Centurion Lounge.

Centurion Lounge Phoenix (PHX) – Services

The staff in the lounge was extremely friendly. Dedicated WiFi is provided in the lounge as well. The lounge comes with own bathrooms, but no showers.

Centurion Lounge Phoenix (PHX) – My View

The Ameican Express Centurion Lounge is a really nice option at Phoenix Airport (PHX), at least for Terminal 4 flights. However, like all credit card lounges in the US, it suffers that too many passengers do the “credit card game” nowadays. The staff is really nice and the breakfast offered came with a nice selection. I liked out stay there.
