I featured the German artist Nina Caroline just once so far. In my 10th January 2025 Songs of the Week, I had her song Blind, recorded with Jupiter Flynn. On 21st November 2025, she is releasing her debut EP Outsider. I had a listen.

Nina Caroline – About The Artist

Nina Caroline is a German indie-pop artist. She is originally from Frankfurt. At the age of eleven she won the contest Dein Song (“Your Song”) in the German children TV channel KiKa. Six years, she left Germany and studied music in England. Nina Caroline, who is nowadays living in Berlin, started to release singles in 2023.

Nina Caroline – Outsider – Track by Track

The six track EP lasts 19 minutes.

1. Radio Silent

Radio Silent combines indie-pop with folk-elements. The song has a very thoughtful and personal touch. The focus on her vocals simply makes you listen to her story. I really like the opener.

2. It´s Not Me Who´s Missing You

The second track of the EP comes with a lovely flow and melody. Despite the title, the song feels very harmonic on the melodic side. Nonetheless, the German artist manages to share the struggle of a broken relationship with the listener. Nice one!

3. Outsider

With 3:48 minutes, the title track is also the longest song of the EP. The style of Outsider reminds of It’s Not Me Who’s Missing You. Nonetheless, the song has a very own character, which is also driven by the chorus. It reminds me of Taylor Swift writes after her transition to pop music.

4. Faking My Own Death

It’s a debut release – so having just two new songs on Outsider is just fine. One of these previously unreleased ones is the fourth song, Faking My Own Death. Again, struggling with a relationship is the topic of her story. Especially the instrumental part of the bridge is impressing and boosts the dramatic character of the track.

5. The Intruder

Nina Caroline released The Intruder on 10th October 2025. It is thus the latest single release before the EP. Again, she is allowing us a deep and honest look into her soul, with troubling, depressing feelings. The mood of the song is beautifully underlining that.

6. Bad Decisions

The EP closes with another previously unreleased song, Bad Decisions. I pushed everyone away, I’m always too late are the first lyrics of the song and thus connects to the track before. The song is more quiet, though and thus feels like the intimate close of a very personal major debut release.

Nina Caroline delivers a lovely debut EP. Outsider presets six beautifully told, very personal stories, which are well written and narrated. This one will definitely increase the focus on the upcoming artist.
