The lounge Josh Cahill made famous – the Privilege Lounge at Tunis Airport (TUN) once made a devastating YouTube video about this place. However, there have been some renovations and changes, so that during my visit in February 2024, the place was in a very different shape. Here is my lounge review, based on two visits flying Saudia Business Class and Air France / KLM.

Privilege Lounge Tunis (TUN) – Location & Access

The Privilege Lounge is located airside, right before you enter the satellite to the gates 50 to 58. Thus, it is located to the right when you leave security control and emigration.

The lounge is the only public lounge at the airport. Thus, it is practically connected to all airlines operating from Tunis (TUN) and offering lounge services. This includes major carriers like Emirates or Lufthansa, the local Tunisair, but also minor carriers like Eurowings. They also accept lounge passes like Priority Pass or Lounge Key. You can also buy in for 25 EUR. The opening times of the lounge are 6:00 to midnight, daily.

Privilege Lounge Tunis (TUN) – Atmosphere

After you pass some sort of small separate lounge, you enter the main room of the lounge. It comes with different areas. The distribution of power outlets is a bit of sparse, so that I went for the high table close to the window, which offers a nice view of the airport action. There is also a relax room. As during my first stay there, before the Saudia flight, the lounge was absolutely packed, I just don’t have that many pictures of the lounge, which is actually rather large. During my second stay, there was much more free space, but the relaxation room was popular as well.

Privilege Lounge Tunis (TUN) – Food & Drink

The lounge has a rather large buffet area. It is located in the rear of the lounge. The breakfast service I had was reasonable, with scrambled eggs, some tarts and pastries, bread, cold cuts and similar items. Before the Air France flight, there have been some warm dishes as well. Definitely not the fanciest lounge buffet I have ever been, but based on the airport, the country and its connection, the food at the Privilege Lounge is really nice.

Drinks (also non-alcoholic ones) are served from the bar only. Especially during my first stay, this took more time than I would have loved investing into it.

Privilege Lounge Tunis (TUN) – Services

While the lounge staff did speak English rather well, the receptionist during my visit was a bit of limited in it. Nonetheless, her service was somehow friendly. The lounge comes with a dedicated WiFi. However, I had significant issues with its stability. There is a designated toilet for the lounge. However, the toilets were not really welcoming during both of my stays in the lounge, so that I rather preferred to skip some pictures. A weird feature of the lounge is that smoking is prohibited, but vaping is allowed in the lounge.

Privilege Lounge Tunis (TUN) – My View

Compared to the social media which made that lounge famous, the Privilege Lounge definitely underwent a significant upgrade. It is definitely preferable hanging out there compared to other airport location. The food is fine, I like the large windows facing some of the gate positions. The atmosphere in the lounge is very nice and modern as well – unfortunately, the lounge may be really full in peak times. The bathroom is unfortunately a clear downside.
