Rock Meets Country 2025 – Atmosphere

As I got that many pictures and material from the Rock meets Country 2025 in Sempach, I need to gain some time and shuffle the posts in contrast to the order you would typically expect. Here is my post about the atmosphere at Lake Sempach from 26th to 28th September 2025.

The Venue / Grounds

The rather modern hall is a really nice spot for an event of that kind. Future-looking, it might rather quickly be on the small side. That’s a shame, the setting right at the lake is just amazing and leads to a very special and unique style.

However, you need to mention some organisational issues in and around the arena. Several emergency exits are blocked. I really wonder how they got the cantonal clearance for opening the door. A fire or any other blocking of the front lobby would have lead to a huge risk. To be straight: in Germany, the fire brigade (who are responsible for that kind of thing in Germany – it’s different anywhere) would definitely not have allowed to open doors. There was also no security in the main indoor area – which did lead to some minor issues on Friday and Sunday. I feel that this is the key thing the organizers need to improve in 2026.

 

Food & Shopping

I was surprised about the variety of food available. Burgers, Mexican stuff, ice cream, fish, cowboy-style coffee – just to name a few. The organizers also attracted quite some vendors. You even could buy a scooter. The most uncommon offer was likely a tattoo studio within the main arena.

 

 

The People

Regardless whether you chat about the organizers or the spectators – the people were lovely in Sempach. Of course, you do have some idiots here and there – but overall, everybody was friendly and the atmosphere very easy and relaxed.

 

 

The Cars

Especially on Saturday and Sunday, there were quite a bit of vintage cars, who were even allowed to park next to the venue. I really loved that special style.

 

The Night

When the sun set, the spirit around the Seepark Halle was even more beautiful. No words needed.

 

Dancing

Dancing and fun is essential during a festival. On Sunday, one of the key organizers even held two brief line dancing workshops, which became very popular. However, the people danced and enjoyed themselves without coaching as well.

In line with Saturday’s focus on rockabilly, there were also dancing performances by a dancing group during intermissions.

 

Marc Amacher – the die-hard musician

Last but not least, I have to say: the artist of the festival is definitely domestic Marc Amacher. He had two sets fixed already. When one act did not appear, he spontaneously played another gig on the outdoor Lakeside stage. This guy is doing music with heart. Regardless whether you
